Pastor Tullian, who recently joined the faculty of Knox Theological Seminary, explains why he’s excited about Knox and how its commitment to educate ministers who are “Christ Centered, Gospel Driven, and Mission Focused” complements and furthers his mission to proclaim the gospel of the crucified and risen Christ to sinners and sufferers.

Pastor Tullian, you and I were born twins, I’m just sure of it. Oh how I praise God that you see Jesus, and specifically what He accomplished for us through His life, death, and resurrection, as THE subject of the Bible. How burdensome it is to continually hear messages that ask of every passage of the Bible “what does this passage tell people they are supposed to do for God?” and instead rejoice that the true message of every passage of the Bible is what God has done for us in Christ. This is the good news that removes the burden of the law, and of man-centered preaching. This is the message that lifts our chin and dries our tears and puts a spring in our step. The Rock was struck, not so that we could be instructed on how to be orderly in approaching God, but rather to show that Jesus was crucified that we might drink from Him, receiving the Holy Spirit that flows from His crucifixion, drinking of the water of life through His death. I do bless the Lord that you are preaching this message, and oh how I wish we could be members of your church. Please pray for us out here on the Olympic Peninsula that God would send us some gospel missionaries for this is a very dark place, with the focus of all passages of Scripture on how we are to love God, serve Him, worship Him, and do all we can for Him.
